Buffalo Riders New CD Cover

Like finding out that the Buffalo Riders Design Contest seems to be over?

The Tuna News got a bunch of visits from the Portland Recording Company website so I went to see who they might be. What I found was a very nice review of the Buffalo Riders recording sessions, the new CD, and it’s cover (shown above). I have not gotten confirmation from the band yet, but I would imagine that their CD cover design contest has found a winner. Just follow the links here to learn more about all of these things.
Another cool thing that I noticed is that in January there were over 400 visits from people coming from, AJ Kids a search engine for kids! Being 12 myself I thought that this was awesome!!

Albion’s Memorial Field Of Crosses Gets Special Visit

Photos made all the papers for miles around, but none caught the event quite like this!!

Click here for full size image.

I have a lot of information on the crosses, their journey to the new home at the base of the “steps to nowhere”, and the stories that quickly leapt out of them and onto the Mendo Grapevine. Stories grow!! I will post all these things as soon as I can, but right now I am going to post the image as is, because of all the requests that it has gotten.

I gave my word it would be here, so it is.

If you click on the image of the crosses above, the much larger higher resolution version will show up. Right click on this larger image, then choose “Save Image As…”, and click OK. If you click on the Headline at the top of this article, you will be able to add your own little part to this story.
Like it or not, everyone stares at this image awhile before it sinks in, then the get struck dumb or something. Leave me your comments please!! To read others comments on the crosses, this image, the ensuing gossip, etc. click here to get right there.

Naps for Peace,

Clark This image has been copyrighted, as have all my images. I do not care whether this particular image makes me any money or not, but I do care about getting design credit where ever it is published. For a copy without all the text, just send your name and email address to me via my portfolio site and i will get back to you as soon as I can.

Congrats to Charles Tyler On His Number 1 Song!!!

Dragonfly Takes Wing!

I am still trying to put the pieces back together on my crashed hard drive so I will let Charles tell you about this himself..
From an email dated 1-7-2006:
Hi all,

I’m writing because I am rather chuffed that a song I wrote over 30 years ago – in 1973 I think – “Dragonfly” – has made a small success of itself on the internet on the Soundclick website, where it has reached the number 1 position on the Acoustic Folk chart. This is based on the number of people who have listened to it and/or downloaded it. To get there the numbers aren’t huge. I can see the figures – for example 298 in December and 235 so far in January. I can also see where my listeners have come from. On just one day (Jan 6) I had 52 visitors to my site, 28 from the USA, 3 from Australia, 2 from Germany, 2 from India, 2 from Italy, 2 from the Netherlands, 2 from the UK, 1 from Israel, 1 from Peru, 1 from the Philippines, 1 from Slovakia, 1 from Taiwan and 1 from Thailand and the rest from places unknown… fascinating! It gives me some inspiration to keep going and also not to neglect my back catalogue!

This is the Soundclick Acoustic Folk chart link.

I now have 60 songs on my site – new and old – and have also made it look a little better…

cheers!

Charles
